Coaching for Health.
How can coaching help your health? It is a fact that too much stress is not good for us and can effect our health. When we are worried about things whether big or small we create stress for ourselves. These concerns can come from many areas of our life work home or family. When we need to make changes it is often difficult, it’s much easier to complain than to work on ourselves. And it is much easier to stay where we are with what we know, to maintain the status quo. Indecision can stop us from fulfilling our full potential this applies to all areas of our life.
Every relationship problem you have is about yourself, every business problem is about yourself usually through your fear or your inability to change. The quickest way to get clarity about your situation is to ventilate (talk) your thoughts. Talking with someone does help we’ve heard that saying a problem shared is a problem halved. Well that is true but a problem coached is a problem solved. Sound like magic?
In the model I use the coach is a sounding board with an added value. The coach has a set of questions which they ask which will help the coachee solve their own problem or issue. Everyone knows what is best for them. A coach does not know what is best for the coachee only the coachee has the answer. The process is about a coachee finding their own power by tapping into their own knowledge and resources.
Following the GROW model demands the coach trust the coachee has the answer. Through this process the coachee will set goals, look at the reality of a situation, find their options and then develop a plan or will to act on the steps needed. They will finish a coaching session with a clear knowledge of what their next most powerful step will be.
This sets the scene for great change in the coachee's life. This is one of the most powerful experiences, to feel in charge of your life to know you do have the answers and then to make the decision to act upon those answers. There are always choices this process helps the coachee to not only make the best choice for him/ herself but to know what steps to take on the road to achieving his/her goal.
